JOSE LUIS BARRIOS-RAMOS obtained a Bachelor's degree in Labor Relations in 2001 (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Puerto Rico and a Juris Doctor degree in 2005 (Magna Cum Laude) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Mr. Barrios is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and is also a Notary Public.
As a law student, Mr. Barrios clerked for U.S. District Court Judge, Hon. Daniel R. Domínguez and for the Puerto Rico Appellate Court. During that same period, he also published the article: Analysis of the Effects of a Consumption Tax in Puerto Rico, 42 REV. DER. P.R. 1 (2003). Mr. Barrios was an associate in the litigation department of the law firm of Martínez Odell & Calabria from 2006 through 2009. Before joining Pirillo Hill González & Sanchez in May 2011, Mr. Barrios enjoyed a successful individual law practice in the areas of Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation.
Mr. Barrios’ main areas of practice are Bankruptcy Law, U.S. Federal and local civil and commercial litigation, and Labor and Employment law.
