JOSÉ C. SÁNCHEZ-CASTRO obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 and graduated Cum Laude from Tulane Law School in 1995.
His areas of practice include corporate, real estate, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and securities. A member of the Corporate and Transactional Practice Group, Mr. Sánchez has participated in numerous corporate acquisitions and has served as issuer's and underwriter's counsel in many public offerings of securities, as well as legal counsel to the two largest investment company complexes in Puerto Rico.
Mr. Sánchez has ample experience in commercial financing, having represented both financial institutions and borrowers. He has also represented numerous clients before regulatory agencies and self-regulatory organizations, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the Puerto Rico Office of the Commissioner of Financial Institutions, and the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance of Puerto Rico.
He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the Puerto Rico Bar Association, the American Bar Association and various sections thereof dealing with corporate and securities matters, and the Puerto Rico Association of Notaries.
